About Julia

I've sat in both chairs.

Finding the right therapist is a lot like finding the right pair of jeans — you may have to try a few before you find one that just feels right. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, accepted, heard, and able to be fully themselves.

Julia Crane, therapist and counselor

Julia Crane, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My path to this work

Julia Crane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of behavioral health experience across community mental health, addiction treatment, clinical leadership, and private practice. She earned her Master of Social Work in 2017, Bachelor of Social Work in 2009, and a Certificate in Addiction Studies in 2021.

I work primarily with adults who may look capable on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, exhausted, or stuck inside. Many of my clients are carrying the effects of trauma, difficult relationships, addiction or recovery, grief, professional burnout, or a major life change.

I am especially passionate about creating a safe place for helping professionals, therapists, veterans, and others who have spent much of their lives caring for people around them. If you are the person everyone else depends on — therapy can become a place where the focus finally returns to you.

My approach

Warm. Collaborative. Grounded in compassion.

My style is warm, collaborative, practical, and grounded in compassion. Together, we will make sense of your story, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, strengthen coping skills, and create steps toward the life you want. Treatment is individualized, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and paced with attention to safety and readiness.

Whole-person care

I want to understand your story — not simply reduce you to a diagnosis or list of symptoms. We work with all of who you are.

Trauma-informed

Trauma can shape the way the nervous system responds to safety, relationships, and change — even when the danger has passed. Our work focuses on understanding those responses without shame.

Evidence-informed

I draw from CBT, EMDR, IFS, ACT, DBT skills, mindfulness, and somatic awareness — tailoring therapy to the person rather than expecting the person to fit a method.

No judgment

This is a space where you can breathe, set down responsibility, and reconnect with who you are beyond your roles. You do not have to earn care by continuing to hold everything together.

Who I work with

Adults ready to focus on themselves.

I work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction or recovery concerns, relationship challenges, burnout, grief, and life transitions.
